I am an NYS Licensed Mastered Social Worker and certified DBT Skills Coach. Life can be like living by the shore. You can't stop the waves but can learn how to surf. I am passionate about helping individuals through the ups and downs that occur in life that we have no control over. Using a safe and supportive approach, I can help you work through difficulties that make it challenging to become the best version of yourself.
My approach is to help you identify the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that prevent you from achieving your goals and living a life worth living. I have provided counseling services to individuals, families, and groups for over five years. I specialize in helping children, adolescents, and adults with emotional regulation, self-esteem, stress, interpersonal effectiveness, aggressive/impulsive behavior, coping skills, parenting, women’s issues, domestic violence, sexual assault, life transitions, ADHD, PTSD, eating disorders, grief, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I utilize the strategies of treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Strength-based, and Trauma-focused to coach and empower clients.
In the words of Viktor Frankl, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” Sessions with me are person-centered and are conducted in a mindful space that promotes acceptance, nonjudgmentalness, self-compassion, encouragement, and change. If you find this to be the right environment for you, please contact me, and I will be more than happy to help.
